Are you taking new patients?
Yes, we are accepting new patients. We love new patients! Come tell us your story.
Where is the practice located?
The office is located in Olde Dominion Office Park on Electric Road in Roanoke, between Our Lady of Nazareth Church and the light at McVitty Road.
What are the office hours?
Dr. Moylan sees patients by appointment only. Usual office hours are Monday - Friday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. For after hours emergencies, go to Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital Emergency Department for evaluation. ER staff can contact Dr. Moylan if her services are needed urgently.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes, we will send your claim to your indemnity insurance carrier and
Dr. Moylan is currently participating as a gyn doctor with BlueCross BlueShield (PPO), Anthem (PPO), Anthem HealthKeepers, Aetna (PPO & LEAP), Cigna Healthcare (PPO), Coventry Healthcare (PPO), United Healthcare (PPO), Gateway Health Alliance, Piedmont Community HealthCare, PHCS Savility, Meritain, Multiplan Network, Optima Health/Sentara, PHCS Network, PHCS Savility,Virginia Health Network, & ValuePoint. Call us if you have questions about whether or not we participate with your plan. Your insurance carrier can tell you if Dr. Moylan is in your network if you call the number on the back of your card. We can provide you with an itemized statement to submit to your managed care insurance carrier for reimbursement if we do not participate with your closed network plan.
What if I need laboratory studies?
Most laboratory studies are sent out (Pap smears, STD tests, cultures, biopsies, etc...) and the lab will file your claim with your insurance carrier. Call us one week after your testing to ask about your test results. Do NOT assume that "no news means the results are normal." We may be trying to call you and your voicemail box could be full and not accepting our message to return our call.
Can Dr. Moylan give me my influenza vaccine? Yes, we routinely vaccinate our patients with quadravalent preservative-free Fluzone. At present, we use the micro-needle syringe for patients 18 years and older, which only penetrates about 3 mm, just below the skin surface, for greater comfort.
What if I need surgery?
If surgery like a hysterectomy or hysteroscopy D&C is necessary, Dr. Moylan will refer you to a specialist who best fits your needs. There are so many medical options for treatment, that surgery is rarely necessary in Dr. Moylan's practice. If you have been told that surgery is your only option, you may wish to consult Dr. Moylan, as you may not be aware of all non-surgical options for your condition.
Will I be evaluated by anyone other than Dr. Moylan?
No, Dr. Moylan is the only physician in our quiet, private, small office. We strive to provide a warm, compassionate atmosphere for you to discuss your personal needs comfortably. Our medical records are private and secure and will only be sent to other providers at your personal request. We comply with the Health Insurance Portability & Accountability Act (HIPAA) of 1996 established national standards to protect patient's personal and medical records.
